LeBron Raymone James Sr. (born on December 30, 1984) was an American professional basketball player who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). King James, he's widely thought of as the best basketball player ever and is often is compared with Michael Jordan during debates about the best basketball player ever. James is the winner of four NBA Championships and Four NBA MVP Awards as well as four NBA Finals MVP Awards and three All-Star MVP Awards. He has also won two Olympic Gold medals. James is an NBA All-Star and has the highest number of playoff points. He also has with the second most points in his career total and the seventh best assists total in his career. He has been selected an NBA All-Star 18 times to the All-NBA Team a record 18 times. He was also selected on the NBA All-Defensive First Team five times. He has been a part of the 10 NBA Finals, the third-most of all time. The streak spans eight consecutive years between 2011-2018. James has been chosen for his place on the NBA 75th Anniversary Team and became the NBA's first player who has accumulated 10,000 or more points in rebounds, assists, and points in his career in 2022. James played basketball for St. Vincent St. Mary High School in Akron Ohio, where he was raised. National media touted him as a potential NBA star. In 2003, the Cleveland Cavaliers selected him with the first pick of the NBA draft in 2003. In 2004 he was named NBA Rookie. He soon was one of the league's best athletes, winning the NBA MVP title in both the years 2009 and the year 2010. James went free agency following his failure to secure championships for Cleveland. The decision to leave Cleveland in order to join Miami Heat, announced on the television show The Decision, is considered one of the controversial free-agent decisions in the history of sports.
